Tess
Tess first came to Victor Rose while studying for her Masters of Fine Arts, sometime in the spring of 2019.
Looking for a quiet - but not too quiet - place to do some writing and online research, she strolled past and popped her head inside to check if it was the place for her.
Within seconds, she knew it was.
What attracted to you to Victor Rose?
This might sound strange, but it wasn’t the smell of coffee or anything like that - it was the art on the walls! I spend most of my days looking at works of art for my education, and I was immediately taken by the artist on display that month. I even remember the name - Susan Smith. She created these amazing impressionist scenes of old farmhouses and country estates.
I figured any place that had such good taste in art had to have great food and coffee too. So I settled in pretty quickly.
Any interesting connections that you’ve made here, for your studies or life in general?
Wow - so many! I actually saw a classmate in here, super randomly, about a year ago. We had never spoken in class but we recognized each other instantly here. We ended up chatting for hours that day and managed to help each other out for our final projects.
Beyond that, gosh, so many people come through here and I find it’s incredibly easy to strike up a conversation. I’ve met florists, artists, life coaches… the list goes on.
